Technical Concepts - Mixing and scales
Minutes - 27

Repertoire -All I Could Do was Cry
Minutes –90ish

Successes – Learned the words!

Areas for improvement – Timing. For some reason This song and I'd rather go blind the timing screws me up. Also I like my voice in these blusey but I really need to work on getting that twangy style .

Notes: I can't wait to hear this song and I'd rather go blind on a piano cause Im worried that the music will be boring

Day 2 9:59pm

Technical Concepts: Mixing and Scales
Minutes - 27

Repertoire - Mariah Carey  "Vision of Love"
Time - 8

Successes - I worked on the riff that Kurt and I worked on in my last vocal lesson and I was getting down on the riff! I still need to get better at breath support and work on my control but I was doing pretty well with the riff.

Areas for Improvement - Breath Support for sure, control for sure, I'm still sick so I'm not getting a great workout for my voice because I just don't have a healthy throat at the moment. I cant wait to feel better and really work some stuff out!

Notes: I didnt really work on any of my repertoire today but I was singin "All I could do was Cry" throughout the day.

Day 3 1/3/11 9:15

Technical Concepts: Mixing and Scales
Time: 27

Repertoire: I"m With You, Avril Lavine
Time - 30ish

Areas for improvement - Still sick so my high notes are not connecting at all. I would like to woke on the Higher notes in the song but couldn't really get there. I know that they are gonna be a biatch cause even when I was healthy I was having issues.

Notes: I want to get better all ready!!!

Day 4 1/4/11 7:29pm

Technical Concepts: Mixing and Scales
Time: 40ish

Repetoir : none worked on the difficult scales more since I slightly had my voice back today!
Areas for improvement: Man what a month off and a cold has done to my voice! I am super scratchy and  having difficulties hitting notes I have been able too.

Notes: I was really excited to have the top of my voice connecting again! it wasnt very pretty but it was there and it was rather weak. No smoking and getting better is really helping!

Day 5 1/5 10:27pm

Technical Concepts: Mixing and Scales
Time: 45ish

Repetoir: I'd Rather Go blind
Time: 15
Areas for improvement: I'm still not getting the timing down I really need to work on this with my vocal coaching class

Notes: still workin my warmups, I'm still locking up at the higher notes and cant seem to let go I dont know if its mental or what but I dont know how to fix it still. I need to work on that in my vocal lessons...

Day 6 1/6

Technical Concepts: scales
Time 15-20mins

Repertoire: I'd Rather Go Blind, Somethin's Gotta Hold on me, & All I could do was cry.
Time: 30-40mins
Areas for improvement. Control and letting go. I am in the blues today so I decided to use this as some therapy and chuck my personal woes into these songs. The emotion felt great, but I don't know how it would read to an audience. I don't know if I'm getting burnt out of these songs, but I'm just not feeling them as much anymore. I have a vocal lesson with Nate this weekend and I want to see what he thinks about them

Notes: I'm thinking of looking for something new or maybe I'm just in a bad mood. My lungs are hurting pretty bad from this cough I have its started to feel like ripping in my lungs so I don't know if I'm getting better so much anymore... Being as heathy as I am though I would think I would have some immunity building...

Day 7 1/7

Technical Concepts: mixing and scales
Time 27

Rep: There's a Fine Fine line, I'd rather go blind, somethings gotta holdon me
Time 1 1/2 hr
Room for improvement: hmm lots... Fine Fine line needs some work cause I was really over it before, but I need it for Wed those high notes I was starting to rock are kinda crapy right now with some work wtih my yoggie bear and crying it got better, I'd rather go blind is doing ok I think, I need to see what paul's ear catches, and somethins gotta hold on me used to be so much stronger!!! ugh

Notes: Gotta work pretty hard this weekend for songs for the performance Wed! Especially if its just me and Buckles we gotta carry a 45 min performance by ourselfs!

Day 8
11:05 pm
Technique: Mixing and Scales
Time 27

Rep: Anything Goes Blow Gabriel
Time 30mins

Successes: Got memorized! I have sang this song b4 but not for along time so I was mostly just getting used to it again and getting the words down again

Areas for improvement: I need to practice with a pianist because I need to make sure i know it well enough to not screw it up on Sat!

Notes: I am gonna audition for Oliver! this weekend and I wanted a song for the audition and I thought this would be a good one!

1/9 7:50pm

Techniques: Breath support and dynamics
Time 15mins

Rep: Lion Tamer, Thats your grail
Time 35mins

Achievements: I need to work on words for these songs in case I sing them on Wed. and i think I got there

Areas for Improvement: Just the nit picky parts like finding the places for breath and my onset sounds

Notes: I am working on these for wed, but I need to figure out what I'm gonna sing for Oliver! on Sat.

1/10 9:30pm

Techniques: Mixing and scales
Time: 27min

Rep: On my Own, Les Mis
Time: 35min

Achievements: I have worked on this song before but not for years. I still had the words pretty down, but I def got them down again!

Area's for improvement: I need to figure out what part I want to sing for my audition for Oliver! this weekend.

Notes: Singing this song since I've learned a little technique It's really exciting for me to sing the song with no problems at all. I remember I used to have a hard time with "blind" but now its no problem at all!

1/11 9:25pm
Technique: Warm-up
Time: 10

Rep: On my Own, I'd Rather Go Blind, That's Your Grail, There's a Fine Fine Line
Time 60min

Achievements: On my Own: Picked the section of the song I think I will sing for Oliver! Audition. I'd Rather Go Blind: Learned that I dont have to sing it really loud and it even actually sounds better. I dont know though because we wont have a mic tomorrow. That's Your Grail: I think I cant sing it tomorrow cause I wont have paul to sight transpose it down for me, But I'll see what Zack thinks tomorrow. Theres a Fine Fine Line: Still got it down.

Areas for improvement: On my own: sound quality. its alittle harsh. I'd Rather Go Blind: sound quality its a little harsh... screew it I'm feeling alittle harsh today. Maybe my mood or the fact that it is as dry as a dead bone today!

Notes: Pretty nervous about tomorrow. All of a sudden I'm wiggin. I dont like planning things too much stress.
